Past Programs:

Anti-Bullying/SEL (Back by popular Demand)

At the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year, we resumed our anti-bullying program at the Gibson-Bethel Community Center thanks to an on-going commitment and generous support from Monat Gratitude and the Coral Gables Community Foundation. Each week, using the disciplinary techniques of self-defense and jujitsu we will continue to provide guidance and instruction for children that suffer from bullying and anger issues with a focus on discipline, leadership, social skills and overall health. This year, as with all programming going forward, we will be incorporating Social, Emotional and Cognitive activities and discussion through conversations and life-skill based scenarios

Zoom-Team buddy program

Since the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, we have been providing the K-5th graders that attend the Gibson-Bethel Community Center’s virtual schooling/after-school program, in addition to students at David Fairchild Elementary School and South Dade Middle School, with a virtual Q&A format that revolves around Social, Emotional and Cognitive thinking and discussion.

Our objective is to provide guidance for children that suffer from a lack of coping skills while improving their cognitive, emotional and social skills. Through consistent and periodic discussion, we will continue to holistically empower, educate, and support these children.
